Inadequate understanding and assessment of community risks leads to unpreparedness and ineffective response strategies during emergencies and disasters. Communities are often not adequately prepared for potential hazards, resulting in delayed or inappropriate response actions, increased impact, and longer recovery times. Conducting Community Risk Assessments is crucial to proactively manage and mitigate risks, enhance community resilience, and ensure effective response and recovery efforts.

Community members and stakeholders receive training on the PDRA tool and risk reduction strategies. The PDRA tool enables data-driven anticipatory actions through its vulnerability assessment index.
